Hi All the NBs for the RTTE Directive had to re-apply (and be re-assessed by their National Accreditation body) to become NBs for the RED. Although the EU Commission maintains the NANDO listing, it is the National Authorities who forward the details onto the database. If the NB is accredited to ISO/IEC 17020 or ISO/IEC 17065, there is a two week “hold” where any other National Authority can ask for more details… If the NB is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, then more information is needed and a longer holding period is required. The NBs for the RED registered in the UK will be on the NANDO list “within” the next two weeks, the UK list has already being uploaded, and we are in the “holding” period. I would expect many more NBs to appear on the NANDO list over the next few weeks. Best Regards Nick

In any case, no RED NB opinions can be issued until 13th June. Since the RED guidance is not yet available as a draft, I would advise sticking with R&TTE (or LVD/EMC) for a while longer.
