A quick update.  I did find that DigiKey has supplier line cards and
sometimes a brief company history,
http://www.digikey.com/en/supplier-centers &
http://www.digikey.com/en/supplier-centers/e/eaton.  Possibly some of the
other online distribution companies have similar information.
