James - In my travels (various labs etc..) the most popular software is the one the lab writes and customizes itself. Instead of writing the program - you can spend hours customizing a "one fits all" type and running into weird issues anyways - I know - been there done that.
Point take about the boss you work for ! I already have several test apps written in VB to control things like turntable / antenna mast, spectrum analyser, radiated RF immunity and results extraction from existing data files. All the building blocks required to write a system and it can be customised easily. However I have to balance this with my time, as a sole business owner I have to consider where my time is best spent and trying to balance all aspects of the business. My boss is a hard task master ;-) Perhaps the investment in this software will be worthwhile in the long run. Once again, many thanks! What "gotchas" or issues am I likely to run into? It needs to drive a R&S ESHS 10 (conducted) and a ESVS 10 (radiated). Bonus points for support for R&S FSP 30 and custom turntable control.
