Please excuse that this is slightly off-topic but thought I'd try a long shot with regards the audience here.  It is an old (cira 1983) controller for a California Instruments variable AC power supply we were hoping to resurrect in order to do an experiment with.

In the unit, unfortunately, U17, an 8 pin IC, and R21 have gone pop in a catastrophic way - enough to have 'melted' the ident off the IC.
