I try my best to keep things out of the landfill☺ From: Richard Nute [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, February 22, 2019 5:46 PM To: Nyffenegger, Dave; [email protected] Subject: RE: [PSES] Rating & WEEE markings on lithium-ion rechargeable battery
Hi Dave: Yes. Coffee makers and other consumer electric-electronic products are not repairable by an ordinary user. If it was, a parts list would be included. When the product quits working, it is end of life. The fact that you replaced a part in a non-repairable device is kudos for you! Even though I could confirm that the thermal cut-out had operated in my waffle iron, I could not find a manufacturer and part number, nor could I make the connections if I had a replacement. The thermal cut-out operates in a hot environment that negates soldered connections. End of life. ☹ Best regards, Rich From: Nyffenegger, Dave <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 22, 2019 12:48 PM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: RE: [PSES] Rating & WEEE markings on lithium-ion rechargeable battery You mean I wasn’t supposed to replace the thermal cutout in my coffee maker (with identical part)? - ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message is from the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society emc-pstc discussion list.
