Hello experts,
I’m working with a company designing some equipment for both rolling
stock and trackside applications for rail applications.
Information about earthing schemes for this type of equipment seems to
be ill defined. The customer has been given the (vague) requirement
that they must achieve a 1.5kV isolation (presumably AC) from all
equipment to Protective Earth. I’m assuming that this is on the low
voltage side of a power supply but this too is unclear.
Does anyone have access to any relevant standards literature, app
notes, books, etc on Earthing requirements for rail applications? Any
pointers at all would be welcome. Some googling on may part isn’t
coming up with much useful. Maybe I haven’t found the correct search term?
Thanks in advance,
James
