Hi Charlie:

Is there a clause/requirement in 61010-1 similar to 60950-1 clause 2.1.1.5
where a SELV source >240 VA is not permitted to be accessible in an Operator
Area

I could not find this requirement in 61010-1, 3rd edition.

The 240 VA requirement does not insure safety due to overheating of an
external conductor such as metal necklace or watchband or screwdriver across
the 240 VA per 60950-1. Tests were done by the Japanese contingent to TC108
that very much less than 240 VA would cause unacceptable overheating.

Best regard,

Rich
