The answer to the question, “Which of the IEC 61000-4-x series are most
applicable to FCC / Class B residential equipment?” is “there ain’t none”.

FCC Class B is all about emissions, and as John has pointed out, the 61000-4-xx
are techniques and methods of measurement for EMC immunity tests. They contain
neither limits nor performance criteria.

The question is about immunity standards, not emission standards.

I suggest it is best to consult the United States Code of Federal Regulations,
title 47, part 15 for radio frequency devices. Subpart B of part 15 addresses
“unintentional radiators” like consumer electronics devices commonly found in
the home. That subpart also identifies limits for conducted disturbances and
RF radiated field strength. It references the methods of measurement provided
in CISPR publication 22 (aka standard EN 55022)

CISPR35/EN 55035 applies only to multimedia products.

Look to EN 55035 which will call out the specific IEC 61000-4-xx standards and
limits for them.

Good morning EMC experts,

Even though we're a provider to N. American markets, this has jumped up at me
recently.

1. A partner claims they want compliance to IEC 61000-4-13 (Part 3).

a. this is limited to equipment 16A, right?

b. what does the title refer to when it says " Mains Signalling at A.C. Power
Port " ?

2. Older standards (specially UL 2231-2) call out IEC 61000-4-3 for immunity
testing, which I remember from {ahem} a while ago.

However, -4-3 isn't on the ANSI Webstore for IEC 61000 series standards - is
it still active?

Which of the IEC 61000-4-x series are most applicable to FCC / Class B
residential equipment?

thanks all,

Colorado Brian
