I've been using a touchscreen for a year now
Just set it up under the X windows setup as and input device does every
thing the same as the mouse
There are sevral  how to on setting up touchscreens

Now this is a thread I'll follow closely because I have a touchscreen 
whose monitor is in use on a legacy machine, but which I think would be a 
welcome addition to the emc2 controllability.  I don't recall its 
protocol ATM but its equipt with a db9 serial connector, so it should be 
a matter of handling the data it spits out when touched.  The screen 
itself is glued to the crt face & looks just like any other anti-glare 
coating.
