Hi All, I used the Ubuntu CD and another computer for the migration. First, it took me a LONG time just to figure out how to turn on EMC2. 70 or 80 pages into the manual and still no hint as to how to actually turn the machine on... Nothing is where it was with EMC1. I figured that out so that isn't an issue any more.
I slightly modified and renamed Stepper_inch.ini to "junior.ini". That's what I call my machine. (My first machine is called Frankenstein... This is Frank Jr.) It took a while to find a way to actually save the ini file BTW. I figured that out... I only changed the input and output scales to match my machine, changed the display to mini and renamed the file. OK... now for the problems and bugs. In the messages area I get a message that says "Can't write stepper.var". All axes move only in one direction no matter which way I command them... And, if my fat fingers press more than one direction or page up/ down key at the same time I get a runaway axis. The axis does stop at the soft limit. Also, if I change the *.ini file to minimilltask, EMC2 won't load past the splash screen. I really like the "Mini" interface.
