A few of us have also been able to reproduce these glitches in the
stepgen component's output.

so far I've only seen it happen at the start of the very first jog, and
the step pulses issued (including the "glitchy" one) seem to occur only
at low speeds and are recorded properly by stepgen in its position
feedback, so that position should be properly maintained. (if the setup-
and hold-times aren't being properly observed, though, it would be
another story)

That said, I sure want to get to the root of this problem.

I'm about to try again but this time using the setup and hold times you
mentioned in your earlier.
