First, you have to run EMC from a command (or terminal) window, like this : scripts/emc & The "&" gives you the prompt back, so you can run another command from the same parent process. After the EMC main screen comes up, you then go back to the command window and type : bin/halscope & (This "&" is optional, but lets you run other commands as necessary.) You need to set the current directory to wherever EMC2 is installed on your system before doing the two commands above, so you are in the directory that scripts and bin are in.
