CNC-Italia is not a forum about EMC2. I'm a proud member of that forum and there is only one section about EMC2. I think EMC2 is a very large, advanced software, with a lot of capabilities. It is highly customizable to adapt it to virtually every kind of machine. There are parts of the program almost never explored as controlling non non-cartesian motion systems like hexapods and other... Also EMC2 is an open architecture software and can be modified, but this requests advanced programming skills. I don't think all these topics can be covered by a single section of a forum about general CNC. First I think a forum is more readable, is subdivided in sections and in every section discussions are divided in threads. There is a powerful search function that allows you to find quickly the things you need. Also a forum can contain a lot of material, all past topics are accessible (I think better and in a more readable way than the mailing list archive and #emc discussion archive...), forum can contain HowTo's guides, videoclips, images...all in a single site. Last, with a forum you don't receive every day a lot of mails in your email. If there was an english forum about EMC2 surely I would be addict to it... But these are only my thoughts, maybe because I'm more used to frequent forums than mailing lists.
