When you get into brushless motors, with an additional 5 wires, minimum, for the hall sensors, and variations of the way the hall signal to motor winding currents are described, I can't expect the poor guy in the field to figure all this out. And, there are going to be motors that have wierdness in the way they do this that make them incompatible with my drives. The only way to find out what works and how to wire it, and what will never work, is to try a wide variety of motors on my amps. Now, I could go out and buy one of every motor on the market, but why not let my customers do that for me? :-)< (That's my beard, there.)
