Thanks, I'll take a look at that when I have the networking stabilized, its 
running on the dhcpd server in the router, which is the x86 version of 
dd-wrt, the best kept secret in the router world right now.  Booting from a 
cf card in a junky of x86 box with 2 nics or more in it, its transparent and 
16" of armor plate between me and the nets black hats.

;-) Thanks for the flowers Ray, but I'm not there yet.  It still isn't 
actually interfacing with the g38.2 command to control it.  And that's what I 
need, the third and hopefully last line to put in standard_pinout.hal that 
will couple it up and enable g38.2 to work.
