Well, we must not have tested it quite well enough. It was 99.99% working. But one line was missing, and as a result, the compensation data was being sent to axis number -1211510801. Very few machines have an axis with that number, so nothing was happening. It has been fixed in CVS (both TRUNK and the 2.1 branch) and will be fixed in the 2.1.7 release coming soon to an internet near you.
