This fellow has some downright neat stuff.  We paid $175 for a capacitor ESR 
tester several years ago, and that thing easily beats sliced bread and 
bottled beer for troubleshooting digital electronics.  It is the major tool 
for that.  I think you could build his for under $30.

Anybody who doesn't bookmark that site isn't running on all cylinders.
