Magnetron? Odd name indeed, since we've called the self-oscillating in a magnetic field vacuum tube as used in radar and cooking microwaves, a magnetron since it was invented circa 1940 something. >wasnt sure >if it used magnetics as opposed to the optical, so i dont know if it would >be ttl or some analog signal or what. and my oscilloscope was through a >flood and i dont even know if it still works, i havnt even cleaned all of >the mud and gunk out of it caus im afraid of how it'll look in there. Ouch, my sympathies. But let me take this opportunity to remind you that oscilloscopes harbor lethal voltages around the base of the display tube. The better ones will have 10 times that on the side connector of the tube too. I would wash it out without ever unwinding the power cord, with distilled water, dislodging the muck that you can with a paint brush until it looks clean. Then I'd let it dry in the warmth of the house for at least a month before plugging it in. Do NOT go poking around inside it even after its been turned back off without purposely shorting most of the tubes terminals to the chassis first. I really, really, don't want to read about you in the newspapers, Jim. >and >without a scope to use, i dont really know how i should start tryin to >figure it out. > >On Dec 15, 2007 11:00 PM, Chris Morley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> Though I am not sure about sony scales, if it produces TTL compatible, >> square edged pulses in quadrature then yes.
