That's up to the machine builder. If they are the same, it will head for the switch at search vel, then back off and head for it again at latch vel, then continue on to find the first index pulse beyond the switch position. (Assuming you are using the index, as Dave is.) If you have opposite signs, it will head for the switch at search vel, then back off it at latch vel, and continue on to find the first index pulse inside the switch position. You might have reasons to prefer one over the other. All of these sequences are in a drawing on the homing page of the manual.
