For a number of reasons, I would like to exclusively use an encoder for
feedback on my DC servo motors. My amps have analog velocity feedback that
originally came from tachos on the motors. Would it be feasible to use
something like a Motenc Lite card to get the encoder counts, calculate axis
velocity and output the analog signals with acceptable performance? I'm
worried about lag and response time. Even if I can't run at full speeds,
would this be good enough to have a functional machine and to make sure my
30 year old drives still work?
Thanks,
Tony
