Was the splinter even there in the first place, Kent?  That is exactly how an 
rf burn feels and acts, looking like a splinter that just happened to get 
superheated.  And they are hell to heal.  Been there, done that, too darned 
many times.  Been playing with electrons for income for nearly 60 years now.
