Gentlemen,
While reading the config files for the Mazak I saw the section
where you set up the spindle to 'wrap'. I would like to see that same
capability for the rotary axes.
The C axis on the 5axis sim would work good with the 'wrap'
function. This would work good on a machine I have.
It would also need to have a rotary scale, In the fanuc control
(and others) the rotary scale establishes the rotary positions as an
absolute value position instead of a +/- position.
The machine moves such that +90 degrees and -90 degrees are the
same position. The sign (+ or -) just tells the machine which way to
move the axis to get to the commanded position. The rotary axes
positions never exceed +/- 359.999 degrees. One more thousandth of a
degree is 0 again.
We have discussed this before but since I saw it in the config
files it reminded me to bring it up again.
Should I submit this as a feature request or has that been submitted before?
thanks
Stuart
