Hi,

I installed from the Hardy Heron live emc disk. Have I mentioned I'm a
problem magnet? I had two important issues.

The first issue was that when loading any axis gui I ended up with a
hashed up screen which seemed to be the parts of the backplot screen
spreading over the bottom two thirds of the screen. Even outside the emc
window. This didn't happen when using the tkemc, mini or xemc gui. I
found this to be strange but there is more to this! I figured what the
heck... lets see how it runs motors. So I took the cpu to one of my
machines and hooked it up. I used a different monitor but the same mouse
and keyboard. Axis works and displays normally with the other monitor.
Makes me scratch my head.

The other issue is with stepconfig wizard. Everything is normal and I
can even test the motors but at the very end the apply button doesn't do
anything useful. It blinks when I either click it with the mouse or
press either <enter> button. However, the only way out of that screen is
to press the cancel button which does work. It doesn't save the
configuration. Head scratching again. The different monitor hasn't
affected this behavior.

Hardy Heron seems to do a very good job of running the motors. I
modified the stepper inch configuration to get what I needed.

These were not issues with ubuntu 6.06lts and emc2_2.2.5 on the same
computer with the original monitor.

That's my report...

Clint
