I did a compound curve test part in delrin on my mill and roughed with an end-mill because it will cut faster and I wanted to spare the ball-mill for when I really need it. I believe the cutting pressure on a ball-mill is higher so you may run the risk of pulling the part or stalling an axis if you rough with it. The proof is in the putting though. -- Kirk Wallace (California, USA http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ Hardinge HNC/EMC CNC lathe, Bridgeport mill conversion, doing XY now, Zubal lathe conversion pending Craftsman AA 109 restoration Shizuoka ST-N/EMC CNC) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
