I am having a little trouble getting a handle on using AXIS and the tool table on my lathe.
I have eight tool positions, and sometimes up to three tools at a position. I call a tool by, TxM6 G43Hxx My tool table is: ~~~~ POCKET FMS ZOFFSET XOFFSET DIAMETER FRONTANGLE BACKANGLE ORIENTATION 1 1 0.0 0.0 0.0 -80.0 80.0 7 2 2 0.9288 0.0114 0.0 90.0 180.0 1 31 3 0.6851 -0.0019 0.0 -60.0 60.0 7 32 3 1.2263 -0.8129 0.0 -60.0 60.0 7 33 3 0.9390 -1.6254 0.0 -45.0 45.0 7 4 4 1.0072 0.0138 0.0313 29.0 89.0 2 #5 5 1.9203 0.0292 0.0000 60.0 120.0 6 5 5 1.9203 0.0282 0.0000 60.0 120.0 6 #8 8 0.7432 0.0435 0.0313 60.0 120.0 6 8 8 0.7432 0.0428 0.0313 60.0 120.0 6 ~~~~ If I call T3M6 G43H31 the offsets seem to be correct, but the Tool Status line always indicates the data from the last line that matches the first digit of Tx; or H33 in this case. Since the proper offset seems to be used, it's not critical, but it is a little more reassuring to have the status display match what I called. If TxM6 is called by itself, it still invokes an offset from the table? I am also finding that in MDI mode, if I enter TxM6 G43Hxx in one command, the G43 doesn't work, but works fine if I enter G43Hxx separately. Is there a reason for that?
