Hi,

  Use an axis to control your turret.

As far as losing steps to guarantee that it's "locked" goes, all that is 
necessary is a g93 to tell EMC that now we know where the axis is based 
on the tool position.

  G93 changes the coordinates without movement.

  For example if my Z is a little shallow I will use MDI to g0 Z-.05 
then g93 z0  which results in my z being .05 deeper without messing with 
re zeroing. Also works great for restarting a workpiece after a tool 
breakage using a known feature's coordinates.
