Hi,

Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well - I guess I was just too frustrated at
the time......

The EMC2/AXIS version I am running is 2.2.6

When I start up EMC2 I HOME each axis including A.

The command I listed was indeed a typo - I missed one command out. what I
actually feed into MDI, one line at a time is..

G53 G0 X0Y0Z0A0
G92.1
G54
G10 L2 P1 X0Y0Z0A0
G49

I just an a test and noted all the actual values - here is what I got.

At startup A read -715.410 in AXIS. I hit the HOME button and the display
didn't change.
I issued the G53 ....... command and again there was no change.
On issuing the G92.1 command the A value changed to -16458.876
G54 produced no change
The G10 ..... command zeroed all the axes including the A axis.

Now I jogged the A axis to 68.023 (arbitrary angle) and hit the TOUCH OFF
button and pressed ENTER with 0.00 in the box. The A axis value changed to
-1659.772
I then jogged the A axis to -1300.002 and again hit the TOUCH OFF button, again
attempting to set it to zero - the A value displayed changed to -10438.157.
Now I again hit the HOME button and the A value changed to -10865.950.

My machine setup is very basic - no Limits, Home switches etc., just 4 steppers.

The figures don't make any sense to me and, as I said, it seems the only way I
can zero the A axis is using a G92 A0 command.......
