You are also going to run into port timing issues, since OS X doesn't support parallel ports. There was at least one attempt to flange up a || port driver some years back but I think that came to nothing. A Google search should bring that one up pretty quickly. Using a USB to || converter to get around the hardware issue is also not a good idea (port timing/kernel issues). Try doing a search in the emc2 list archive to dig up replies to a similar query of mine about a year or so ago. This will give you more authoritative answers than mine!
