I am planning to make an encoder for my tool changer: http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/Shizuoka/00030-1a.jpg http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/Shizuoka/Tool_Changer_Encoder-1a.png
I was going to drill holes into a disk with a binary bit pattern and clock bit. It's not very elegant and larger than I like. Does anyone know of an existing (inexpensive) absolute encoder that would work? (By the way, here is an interesting variation of my changer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjBjR2Z3fqk I don't know if it's better to have an arm or move the whole carousel? I've also noticed that the taper on NMBT40 is the same as CAT40, so if I could come up with a stud puller in place of my power draw bar, I could use the more common CAT holders. Just a thought.) ------------ Kirk http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, CA -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the Enterprise -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source participation -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: SFAD http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
