Other wise you'll have to preposition the the chuck on the index pulse before starting emc every time.
I'd be partial to the aux shutter idea suggested previously that would short out the index pulse when the vane isn't blocking, and attached to the actual spindle, then it will know where it is on the first index pulse that comes through after powerup and boot. Or just move the index generator to the spindle, better yet.
