Hi Michael, The Sherline flycutter has a # 1 morse taper mount to fit right in the headstock which is probably the best solution on a small machine for rigidity. I wonder if the shanks of the sets you see online are hardened? If not you could machine them down to a more manageable size, or if you're feeeling adventurous machine a #1 morse taper into the half inch shank.
