Only a few shops would be interested DIRECTLY in EMC2. I think a number
of shops that
are fed up with commercial controls that never worked quite right, or
were insanely expensive
to get repaired might be accepting of a control based on readily
available parts at a price they could afford to keep
spares on hand. But, they would want an integrator to put it all
together for them in a timely manner.
There are a few integrators who could do this, but not very many so
far. I would not want to get involved at
that level - the hotel room, on-site traveling retrofit show. I think
maybe there is a place for a retrofit kit-builder, though.
The on-site guy orders a bunch of parts off a menu, with everything
available, like custom-length cables, connectors
that match the motors, etc. Perhaps all the parts could mount on DIN
rails or something.
