John I went to the site and tried to down load right from the site after I couldnt get it done with the cd. I tried both, the image and then the down load and install. The cd that I have was made by somebody else but it did have several files in it. I must be doing something wrong .Thanks Ron

The EMC2 live CD download is the image for a bootable CD that you can run EMC2 from.
