Hello Peter,

why is the linux pp driver important with the pci parallel port card ? I
mean I have disabled the parport_pc, parport, ppdev and lp modules in
/etc/modprobe.d/emc2, so these pci parallel ports do not get claimed by
the linux pp driver at all. Or am I missing something ?

I'll try to get a SUN1888 and an Oxford PIC952 based card tomorrow
morning, then I can test, the cable length of <2 feet is not a problem
for me at all. Problem is that all "normal" shops around have these darn
moschip based cards.

Cheers
Max
