I'm ALMOST finished enabling my Logitech Dual Action gamepad with emc2
2.3.4. I have a couple of things I'd like to do but don't know the
best way to start with it.

I'm using a pendant hal configuration that is a variation of this one
(with some alterations/corrections for my system) For some reason the
flood toggle didn't work for me.. so I had to do my own with help from
some of the other entries in the knowledgebase. If anyone wants my
file, let me know.. I'd be glad to share.. I just have to decide
which functions I want permanently attached to which buttons.

Here's my questions/problems:

1) Toggle key functions:

I've programmed on/off buttons (a single button controls both on and
off) for Mist Coolant On/Off (actually my swarf sucker), Spindle On/
Off, and Machine On/Off. They work great but for one exception. I
sometimes get either a key bounce when pressing the button, or the
software processes 2 or more repeat key presses when I press it once
(a timing thing) which turns it on/off/on/off/on etc before I can
release the key - sometimes it takes a couple of tries. Is there a
way to slow this response down.. or only accept a single press at a
time or some such? Or am I missing the boat and there's something
else going on?

2) Hat Jog Function:

I would like to make the hat button on the controller jog the x and y
axis by a fixed amount (i.e. 0.01" or 0.001" or maybe whatever is
selected in the menu in Axis) each time it is pressed. I may go as
far as using a modifier button, and the hat together to make it do the
same for the Z axis.... but not sure yet.

Is there a simple way to do this easily (or get started)? Has someone
already done this so I don't have to reinvent the wheel?

Thanks.

Michael Jones
