It is a really nice general use 3D utility. Not so much for modeling as it is for processing/converting 3D geometry. The other window is Mac OS X's built in Screen Sharing connected to my linux machine running EMC. In the finder, you just command-k and enter vnc:// with the machine's IP address. You have to have VNC enabled on the linux machine. The toolpath was created with Pycam on the same Linux from a DXF model. It is a nice, simple little application. I just wish it had a few more options, but it is 0.1 and people are contributing patches. So everything you saw on the video was done with free/opensource software... I have also been evaluating Vectorworks on the Mac. It will creates solids/surfaces that can be used in more sophisticated toolpath software. I am still learning and am evaluating just about any toolpath generation software I can find. If anyone has recommendations, I would love to hear. Also, I would be interested in reading more about the different styles of toolpaths, and which one works best for the task.
