The major issue I think would be that EMC has programming/macro ability in its version of G-Code. For simple g-code it would be moderately simple IF EMC read the entire program and interpreted it prior to execution, but it only makes a cursory pass looking for syntax issues mainly and not doing a complete evaluation.
If it could be done quickly in that quick pass to try to determine the full run time it might be doable. But if EMC is going to do it, I would hope that it would be more accurate than the 'microsoft minutes' that happens during windows program and update installations. I know, you are asking for not a 100% accurate solution, but less than 10% off is appropriate. This request is a 'simple request' but fully implementing it may not be as simple to be even moderately accurate. But yes, it would be useful. I hope that someone will submit this as a formal request and see if the developers accept it. ...
