Hi!,

We are using Halscope to get data saved into a file while running our
hexaglide, and using that file to do various things as for example
identification or parameter estimation.

To that end we need to know about the precise time instant in which the
data is collected. For example let say that we are recording:

pid output, feedback, and cmd

at the same frequency of the thread that runs the hal component updating
functions.

In our case all the functions of the components are running in the same
thread, but we don't know when is halscope reading the data: before,
during or after all the functions of the hal components in the given
thread has been updated.

That information can be relevant in the context of identification /
parameter estimation, analysis of a control algorithm implementation
using halscope.

As for identification the needed data is encoder count and analog
outputs at the same time instant I would like to be able to get the data
just after the both updating functions has been called so data will be
as fresh as possible.

I would like to understand better how halscope works synchronizes with
the updating functions.

Can we control exactly between which updating functions is halscope
going to read the data?

Thank you very much,

Javier Ros
