I thought I would be able to keep all signals entirely within one hal file, but that didn't work. So, now I have some signals that are created and fed in one file, but are used in another. This requires signal names. Not only hal scope, but also show hal signals, halmeter and the xml files used for pyvcp, for instance, all need signal names.
