Igor, if your system was tuned well enough to fight you when you tried to move the screws by hand, it's strong enough to overcome oil stiction. i'd think cold weather = bad connections, like an analog command to an amplifier going thru a bad contact... but i dont know if you have a digital command ( like a stepper stepper system ) or an analog command like many servo amps, but a lower than expected Velocity command would yield an unexpected lag, the amp would be happy but the external control ( emc2) would not be happy, and would have to push to reduce the velocity error. the amp would be happy because it did what it was told, but emc2 would not be happy because the command it sent was not the command received by the amp. my2c tom3p
