I downloaded Ubuntu 10.04 desktop. Loaded it to CD. Ran the install, at
which point it asked if I wanted to delete the old Ubuntu, at which time
I said yes. Completed the install. Updated Ubuntu 10.04. Rebooted and
loaded the install script to disk, but the emc2-install.sh icon did not
appear on the desktop as per the instructions. So I went to Home Folder
/ Downloads and proceeded with the instructions from there. Everything
seemed to go as per the instructions. When it was done I rebooted and
CNC > EMC2 was not to be found under the Applications pulldown menu or
any other menu I tried. What did I do wrong? Did I need to reformat the
drive before loading Ubuntu 10.04. If so, please instruct me on how to
do it. I noticed that you can format the drive under System >
Administration > Disk Utility but I am not sure what options to select.
Thanks.
