They owe their existence to lessons learned on CNC'd X1's and 3's. A lot
of the suggestions that Sieg took on came from the UK, and they are
sold, certainly here, with UK based support and bundled with Mach3. They
are also available with Siemens controls, although I never seen one of
those.

The major changes have been decent brushless motors and the electronics
have been beefed up considerably over the early manual X1, X3 range. I
think these days the only iron shared with their manual cousins is the
basic table casting. On the KX-3 the base and Y axis is totally
different than the SX3, it's much heavier with longer ways.

Overall they are a pretty good machine for the money.
