Admittedly their 622 is a lighter machine (170 kg vs 220 kg), and their
1240 is a different ballgame.

Given that "Ya can't take it with ya", I'm leaning toward the proponents
of spending the time EMC2-ing a ready-to-go machine, and then enjoying
the machine I'd rather use, rather than the machine I'd rather pay for.

They both have 230 mm (9") throat. That's not too bad.

And:
                          KX3           622  
Table travel - X axis: 300 mm(12")     300mm
Table travel - Y axis: 150 mm(6")      120mm
Head travel  - Z axis: 290 mm(11")     290mm

Motor power & spindle speeds are also identical.
Both can be had in R8 taper, the KX3 also in MT3. (But that could be
more awkward for tool changing?)
