I also have a downloadable thread milling generator.  I don't use it 
much, as single-row thread milling is fairly slow.  But, for oddball 
threads or things that cannot be put in the lathe, they work great.  I 
had something a while ago where a
1"-20 TPI thread needed to be put in a piece at a 30 degree angle.  
Without making an elaborate fixture, there was no way to mount it in the 
lathe.  So, I thread milled it.  it took several minutes, but generated 
a perfect thread the first time.

The C code should compile on almost any system, but certainly on Linux.
