I considered that, very briefly.  In rf, we have connectors, but I've never 
seen a heat pipe that one could freely bend, or install connectors to 
extend it.  Liquid CPU coolers might help, but far less hassle to put in 
the fan and filtration & expect to watch and replace the filter 
occasionally.  Then to add insult, after I ordered the C1G breakout board, 
I find it needs a separate 5 volt half amp psu.  I have enough line cords 
in this lashup now!  So an LM317 gets bolted on someplace.  But this box 
has lots of 1/8" & 3/16" thick alu to bolt it to.  With Dave checking the 
old Townsend ch 46 transmitter for heat sinks we can salvage, to bolt on 
the outside, I expect it will work.
