Andy, Most large commercial servo drives make no attempt to ground one leg of the DC bus. Both are considered hot. They also frequently do not have isolation from the line via a transformer. Oftentimes large chokes are used as filters to keep from pumping high frequencies into the power line but that is about it. Sometimes drive isolation transformers are used, but usually that is to match the drives to the power line, or to meet the drives requirements of having a Wye connected transformer winding powering the drives, with the Wye center grounded. (So the input power is referenced to ground) Dave ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Using storage to extend the benefits of virtualization and iSCSI Virtualization increases hardware utilization and delivers a new level of agility.
