So, if I have a UP motherboard and upgrade to 10.04, which pulls SMP and APIC. I might be able to fix my system by learning how to compile my kernel and select UP instead of SMP? Or, just upgrade to an SMP motherboard? Upgrading the motherboard would be fine, but it would be nice to have this issue made more clear up front. It's not that I don't realize I'm freeloading on others work with EMC2, but it would be nice to avoid these snakes-in-the-grass. Plus these snakes could give EMC2 and Linux the reputation of being only for geeks. -- Kirk Wallace http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ http://www.wallacecompany.com/E45/index.html California, USA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All the data continuously generated in your IT infrastructure contains a definitive record of customers, application performance, security threats, fraudulent activity, and more.
