No, 5i25 is different from other Mesa pci cards, the firmware is loaded and stored right in the card. When I purchased my 5i25, I had to provide information, what functions will be needed and they prepared the firmware and loaded it in the card. I do not know, how to proceed, if something changes in machine or whatever and I suddenly want to use different firmware. With other Mesa cards it is easy - simply change a line and specify other firmware file (process of creating custom firmwares is a separate story, where I have no experience at all). Peter probably could explain in more detail, but I do not think that it matters now.
