Well, I have a 1978 Allen-Bradley 7320 that can also run a milling  machine.
In fact, it was purpose-built for that task.  But, the user interface is 
VERY much
less user-friendly than even the first version of EMC from 1997, and I
don't have a paper tape punch to punch my G-code on.  So, I was VERY
happy to move up to EMC on a PC, and also to get a much more reliable
CNC system by moving away from the aged, creaky control.
