Nope. hosts file based static addresses, but dhcp is also serviced.

This thing makes no attempt to bring up an ipv4 address.  Even dmsg has 
only a 2 line entry in the hardware discovery.

And except for the increment in the address, the /etc/network/interfaces 
file was identical (in the first install, I haven't putzed with it since 
ifconfig, after the second wipe & install, has no connection and only ipv6 
addresses are shown in the ifconfig eth0 report.
